Lakhi Pooja

Worship has a special place in Indian society. In fact, many types of worship and festivals are held here. But the people of Lakhi Puja, mainly in some areas of Katihar, Barsoi, Azamnagar, Ahmedabad, celebrate this Puja with great enthusiasm. On this occasion, along with khichdi and kheer made of new rice, lava, chuda murhi etc. are offered to Lakhi Devi, happiness and peace are wished for mankind and cholas made of Arva rice flour are presented to their homes. The arrival of Bhagwati is invoked by decorating it. This is seen as the influence and fusion of Bengali culture in Katihar. In some areas of Ahmedabad's Gobindpur and Azamnagar, a fair and a boat round competition are also organized on this occasion, in which people of all communities and castes participate enthusiastically.
